The initiative “The Unobserved Churches” returns, a program of itineraries dedicated to Ravenna’s less touristically frequented churches, conceived by Cristiana Zama, a licensed tourist guide.\nRavenna can hold surprising places for an attentive visitor, spots that often go unnoticed even by the locals themselves. The Unobserved Churches are tours aimed at better understanding and appreciating these places, which are often closed, less accessible, or simply somewhat set aside.\n\nAs a new feature of the 2024 program, there will be a special opening<\/strong> of the Church of Santa Giustina<\/strong> and the former Church of Santa Giustina in Capite Porticus<\/strong>, paired with a visit to the Seminary to discover traces of the former Church of San Girolamo<\/strong>.\n\nThe first appointment is on Saturday, November 23, at 3:00 PM<\/strong>, with an in-depth visit to the Church of Santa Maria del Suffragio<\/strong>, built by the Roman architect Francesco Fontana at the beginning of the 18th century, and the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena<\/strong>, a small Baroque-era place of worship.\n\nHere is the complete schedule:<\/p>\n

Saturday, November 23<\/strong>\nChurch of Santa Maria del Suffragio and Church of Santa Maria Maddalena\n\nSunday, December 1<\/strong>\nChurch of Santi Giovanni e Paolo and Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore\n\nSaturday, December 7<\/strong>\nChurch of Santa Giustina and former Church of San Girolamo (Seminary)\n\nAll visits, lasting one and a half hours, include a brief explanation outside, an internal visit, and a short walk to reach the second church on the itinerary.\n\nTours are conducted with the aid of radio guides to allow for better enjoyment and, when necessary, the maintenance of social distancing.\n\nThe cost of \u20ac10 per person includes the tour and radio guide rental (for groups over 10 people).\n\nReservation is mandatory and must be made in advance on eventbrite.it<\/a> (by performing a geo-localized search for Ravenna), on the Ravenna Incoming website visitravenna.it<\/a>, or by contacting the guide directly.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
